Beginner friendly!
Join us for another Stitch for Haneen fundraiser where together we will gather and cross-stitch an original pattern featuring Armenian script intertwining Palestinian & Armenian motifs.
We will briefly discuss Armenian/Palestinian embroidery and solidarity. We will introduce the pattern before getting started. No experience necessary. This is not a class, but there will be people available to help folks get started and help you along. The last hour (4-5 PM) will be open gallery hours for viewing the show. At 4PM a visiting Palestinian tatreez artist, Jenna of Weekend Threads, will do a short presentation about her piece in Threadlines.
All materials will be provided, including thread to get started and a PDF pattern for you to take home. 100% of ticket sale profits will go to Haneen, a Palestinian Tatreez artist, teacher & mother in Gaza.
Event time: SATURDAY 10/18 1:00 – 5:00PM @ SWANA Rose Culture + Community Center 2942 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Portland, OR 97212
